Walnut Weekly Secretary Desk – Louis-philippe Period, 19th Century

An elegant secretary desk with a drop-down flap that also serves as a weekly planner, crafted from walnut, featuring a tall, narrow front with clean lines.

It opens at the top with a drawer, followed by a flap concealed within the front, which forms a writing surface when opened.

The interior features a central compartment accompanied by three small drawers, two of which are arranged side by side, offering a layout characteristic of a secretary desk.

The drop-down panel is fitted with a black writing surface.

The lower section features a series of drawers with molded fronts.

It has straight side panels, a slightly projecting cornice, and a base resting on small, molded front legs.

The lock openings are discreet, in keeping with the understated aesthetic of this type of furniture.

The back, made of assembled wooden panels, and the visible construction are consistent with 19th-century craftsmanship.

The stenciled number “99” on the reverse appears to be a former inventory number.
