A fine copy in large In-8 format, with smooth marbled light brown calfskin binding adorned with gilt metal fittings featuring fleurons, a red morocco title label, and covers with framing friezes; marbled endpapers with edges gilded in bright gold. This lovely book comes from the library of Alexandre de Roch du Teilloy (the bookplate bears his coat of arms). “Excerpts from Pliny’s Natural History,” by M. Gueroult, Professor of Rhetoric at the Collège d’Harcourt. In Paris, printed by Michel Lambert, rue de la Harpe, near Saint-Côme; and available at Brocas, Bookseller, rue Saint-Jacques, at the corner of Saint-Jean. A.D. 1785. A magnificent copy in a contemporary binding.
