Signed "F BARBEDIENNE" on the base (see photo).
This clock deserves to be restored by a professional.

Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810–1892).
The Barbedienne foundry was a renowned 19th-century bronze foundry whose statues and works of art quickly gained widespread acclaim. This bronze workshop collaborated with other crafts and lent its name to a wide variety of works, particularly furniture. A regular participant in all the World’s Fairs of its time, the Barbedienne foundry was frequently awarded prizes, notably at the 1855 World’s Fair, where it received the Grand Medal of Honor.
