Very fine stew set, spoonand fork, filleted design, first quarter of the 19th century, byNicolas-Anselme Bourdet, established in Paris, “Silversmith’s Shop:Le Couvert, 10 rue Cocatrix and 17 rue du Marché aux fleurs inParis starting on May 27, 1809.

His widow, Jeanne Ameslant, resumedthe business in 1821 by striking her own hallmark (J.A.V.B)

The set is in excellent condition and of high density;the tips, spoon bowl, and fork tines are very well preserved, with nowear. The spatulas are engraved on the back with a coat of arms beneath aVicomte’s crown, and on the rim “FAYT BIEN ET LAISSE DIRE.”

Goldsmith’s hallmarks and guaranteeengraved on both pieces; minor micro-scratches from use. A rare set for connoisseurs and knowledgeable collectors.
