“Unexplored Treasures”: The Origins of Law "The Rediscovery of Roman Law" Lectura Azonis
This volume contains Azzone’s lectures, compiled for the first nine books of the Codex by his student Alessandro de Sant’Egidio, while the commentaries on the last three books are attributed to Ugolino. For three centuries, all traces of his works seemed lost; then, in 1557, the lawyer Antoine Le Conte discovered a manuscript in a stable and had it reprinted in Paris in 1577.

Azo of Bologna (also known as Azzo or Azolenus) (active between 1150 and 1230) was an influential Italian jurist and a member of the School of the Glossators.
