Kidney-shaped Dressing Table, Thuja Wood And Gilded Bronze Magnifying Mirror, Late 19th Century

A beautiful kidney-shaped dressing table or vanity made of mahogany with thuja burl on the top and sides.
This is a chic, one-of-a-kind piece featuring a high-quality gilded bronze frame.
On either side of the swiveling oval mirror are gilded bronze frames adorned with acanthus leaves and male and female busts.
These bronze pieces have the rare feature of incorporating candle holders.
The top is made of thuja burl veneer and is encircled by a bronze mold.
A drawer opens along the top edge.
The four legs end in bronze feet.
In very good condition, with the original gilding still very shiny.
The top has a few very slight chips in the center of the veneer.
This piece is reminiscent of the creations of the cabinetmakers Mercier Frères.
