Biedermeier 6-drawer Chest, Walnut, 1830

Biedermeier-era chest of drawers with six drawers. The tall, narrow body follows the typical design developed for the wall pilaster between two windows. The body, drawer fronts, and top are made of walnut veneer.

The six drawers are arranged uniformly one above the other. The drawer fronts are assembled symmetrically so that the wood grain forms a continuous pattern across the entire front. Ebonized lozenges serve as lock plates.

The hardware consists of brass ring handles with lion-head rosettes, two per drawer. The chest of drawers rests on tapered legs.

The piece has been professionally restored and refinished with shellac. The locks have been replaced, and all keys are included. The chest of drawers is ready for use.
