Biedermeier Lyre Table, Made Of Cherry Wood, Germany, Circa 1825

Biedermeier side table with lyre-shaped base. The two side lyres are made of solid cherry wood and adorned with strings. They are connected by a crossbar and end in curved legs.

The body features one drawer; the top and apron are veneered in cherry wood. An ebonized diamond-shaped inlay serves as the keyhole, and the base of the body is an ebonized molding. The top has an age-related veneer repair.

The lock and key are original. The table has been restored, polished with shellac, and is ready for use.
