Silver Pitcher, 18th Century
Solid silver tripod-style pitcher/chocolate pot with a wooden handle and frother. Two small lids close the spout and the frother opening. The understated decoration consists of shell and scroll motifs chased beneath the spout.
Hallmarks visible on the reverse and under the lid:
Crowned letter, hallmark in use in Paris from 1756 to 1762
Crowned “R,” guild hallmark in use in Paris from July 1757 to July 1758
Silversmith’s hallmark with the initials CD
A slight dent on the body.
Good overall condition.
18th-century piece.
