Louis XV Period Coffee Pot, Plated Metal Tripod Base, Good Condition
Artist: Ateliers Parisiens
Here is a beautiful, large, silver-plated brass coffee pot in a baluster shape. It rests on three cabriole feet (goat's feet), has a turned wooden side handle, a solid spout with hinged top and a lambrequin molding, and a lid with a cut-out thumb rest.
This lovely coffee pot is virtually indestructible due to thickness of body, which clearly shows it was hammered together.
French work from Louis XV period, circa 1750.
Dimensions: Height: 23cm, Width: 23cm with handle. Weight: 1kg of quality!
Good condition, a small dent, some wear.
The original silver plating (mercury) is present on over 95% of surface, which is very rare.
The attractive wooden handle is probably 19th century.
