A significant bookcase from the Napoleon III period, crafted of black and gilded lacquered wood.
The bookcase consists of a low cabinet with 6 drawers and 3 double doors, topped by a tall cabinet with 3 double glass-paned doors and numerous shelves. The different sections are separated by a trompe l’oeil marble pilaster and decorated with palm leaves and gilded flowers.
The right and left sections feature a mirrored back and overhead lighting.
