Pair Of Gilded Bronze Wall Sconces, Empire/neoclassical Style — Quiver And Torch Motif
A beautiful pair of two-arm wall sconces in gilded bronze, in the Empire or Neoclassical style, sculpted in the shape of a quiver surmounted by a twisted flame, framed by two arms coiled in volutes and ending in lamp heads decorated with acanthus leaves. The base of each sconce tapers to a point adorned with a stylized pine cone motif, reminiscent of ancient spearheads or quivers—an ornamental motif highly prized during the First Empire and revived in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
