MagnificentBoulle marquetry box from the second half of the 19th century, remarkable for the richness of its decoration and the quality of its craftsmanship.

This box features a sumptuous decoration of foliage, arabesques, and botanical motifs in engraved brass on a red-stained tortoiseshell background, framed by delicate gilded bronze moldings. The piece as a whole attests to the craftsmanship of the finest Parisian workshops specializing in Boulle marquetry during the Second Empire.

The interior is entirely lined with its original crimson velvet, offering an elegant and refined presentation. Intended to hold jewelry, precious documents, or valuable objects, this box also serves as a remarkable decorative piece.

An interesting detail is that the lock bar is engraved with an inscription referencing the Francois 1er of the Algier establishment at 335 Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, a prestigious 19th-century Parisian address where several dealers and manufacturers of luxury furniture were based. This signature enhances the historical significance and quality of this piece.

The pieceis in excellent condition, featuring an antique patina and a few slight signs of wear consistent with its age, without detracting from its exceptional presence.
