Left-handed dagger with a re-pierced shell-shaped guard, 17th–18th centuries.
Straight, symmetrical, four-sided blade with a central blood groove and two lateral blood grooves at the ricasso.
The tip is slightly bent and blunted.
The pommel is a flattened, saucer-shaped round knob with a pierced design; see photos.
Large, straight quillon with a helical section and a bulbous tip.
The guard branch protecting the hand is shell-shaped with a rounded plate, openworked with a design of birds and a floral garland along the edge.
Straight tang with helical filigree work, ending in a braided ferrule at each end.
No scabbard.
