Ceramic Lamp Designed By Raphaël Giarrusso (1925–1986), Circa 1965
Elegant ceramic table lamp designed by Raphaël Giarrusso.
A Canadian-Italian ceramic artist, renowned for his work at Poteries d’Accolay.
The base features a slender baluster shape coated in a textured glaze with mineral-toned shades of gray, beige, and white. The base is adorned with an openwork geometric frieze inlaid with ruby-red enamel cabochons, punctuated by small touches of blue-green, while a second decorative band encircles the lamp’s neck. When lit, the light shines through the openings, revealing the brilliance of the colorful enamels.
The lamp is topped with a cylindrical shade made of woven natural fiber.
