Meissen porcelain figurine “Estrella” from the ballet *Carnaval*, wearing a voluminous tulle skirt, resting on an oval base painted with a diamond pattern. This is one of five figures modeled by Paul Scheurich in 1913 based on the Russian ballet *Carnival*. The ballet was choreographed in Saint Petersburg in 1910 by Mikhail Fokin to Robert Schuhmann’s piano music and was performed in Berlin by Sergei Diaghilev’s ballet company—a performance that had deeply impressed Scheurich. Marked with crossed blue swords and numbered D 285. In perfect condition. Model listed in the Meissen-Bergmann catalog
