Meissen porcelain figurine "White Elephant" created in 1940 by Erich Oehme. Marked with blue crossed swords, engraved with "Weiss" and numbered P 271. In very good condition, but one of the elephant's tusks has been broken and repaired (a portion is missing), see photos. Listed in the Meissen-Bergmann catalog. Animal figurines are part of a long tradition at the Meissen porcelain factory. Oehme, particularly renowned for the finesse of his work in animal sculpture, thus contributed to the great variety of figurines.
