Openwork Lantern With Engraved Glass From An Antique Collection, 18th–19th Century
A lovely brass lantern, exuding refined elegance with its rosette-decorated vents, scalloped edges framing the glass panels, a re-drilled chimney, and a unique smoke vent that also serves as a swiveling hanging hook.
The previous owner (collection marks), apparently replaced the candle holder and restored the glasswork.
As a result, the lantern is in good condition.
Northern Europe, Flanders? Late 18th century or early 19th.
The back must have had a handle; traces of it are visible.
