Display book containing thirty-five livery and heraldic buttons.
The buttons are adorned with coats of arms, crowns, or monograms.
Mounted on a cardboard board, with a handwritten reference for each one.
The book is made of cardboard covered with percaline; the interior is lined with purple silk bearing the emblem of Gourdin et Compagnie.
The Gourdin et Compagnie (marked G. & Cie) was a French button manufacturer, particularly known for its livery buttons, active from 1841 to 1910. The company was located at 16 rue du Cloître Saint-Honoré in Paris, and succeeded the Cordier company.
