A Japanese Ivory Okimono Of Fukurokuju With Gold Decoration, Signed Gyokkosai
A finely carved Japanese ivory okimono depicting Fukurokuju, one of the Seven Lucky Gods, dressed in sumptuous robes adorned with an exquisite gilt decoration featuring flying phoenixes and stylised clouds, signed Gyokkosai. His characteristically elongated forehead—an emblem of wisdom and longevity—emerges beneath his tall headdress, while his long beard falls gracefully across his chest, blending harmoniously with the ample folds of his robe. Signed in gold on the underside of the base.
