This beautiful pair of spherical apothecary jars is two-handled and features an element that is quite unusual for this type of vessel: a spout located at the bottom and pointing downward, so the contents were likely secured with a special stopper.

The jars are decorated entirely in monochrome white and blue with acanthus-leaf motifs that cover the entire surface, framing the cartouche: OL. Hyperica Gimpl / OL. Violatum. The beautiful, intact handles curl in volutes and surmount the two blue lion masks.

The vases are in good condition, with some slight surface chipping, and show no obvious restorations.

The dimensions are 33 cm in height x 34 cm maximum width x 12 cm in diameter at the upper rim.

The pieces are sold as a pair. A certificate of authenticity issued by our antique gallery is included with the sale.
