Elegant lidded candy dish in Sèvres-style earthenware, made in France in the late 19th century, circa 1880–1900. This remarkable decorative piece stands out for its elegant deep blue background, its rich gold highlights, and its sumptuous, finely chased gilt bronze mount—all characteristic of the luxury pieces produced during the Napoleon III era.

The lid is adorned with a delicate, hand-painted scene depicting a peaceful landscape featuring a tree-lined river and a residence. This scene is framed by a rich gilded decoration composed of foliage, floral garlands, and Louis XV-inspired motifs that extend harmoniously across the entire piece.

The gilded bronze mount, featuring exquisite chiseling, elegantly highlights the bonbonnière’s forms. It features an openwork gallery encircling the body, two gracefully curved handles, three richly sculpted feet with rocaille decoration, and a finely crafted pine cone-shaped knob—a traditional symbol of abundance.

The underside bears a Sèvres mark as well as a “Château des Tuileries” stamp. These marks, frequently used in the late 19th century on decorative pieces made in the style of the Sèvres Manufactory, enhance its decorative appeal but do not allow it to be attributed to the national manufactory.
