Richly decorated Art Nouveau inkwell.
In the center of the pentagonal base is a recess designed to hold an ink bottle. Behind it is a depiction of a young woman with her arms outstretched, set against a background of blooming pansies. The figure, emerging from the climbing foliage, serves as the focal point of the piece.
It comes with an original glass ink cartridge.

Maurice Maignan (1868–1946)—a French sculptor working in the Art Nouveau style. He created both decorative busts and utilitarian objects. His intimate works are featured in numerous European museums, notably the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and the Villa Rátha György in Budapest.
