Jean-Didier Debut (1824-1893)

Jean Didier Debut , was a French sculptor , originally from Moulins , born on June 4 , 1824 .
A student of "David d'Angers" , Didier Debut exhibited at the Salon from 1848 and won the second Prix de Rome in 1851.
He took part in the great Parisian monument decoration projects of the second half of the 19th century , for the City Hall , the Garnier Palace and the Court of International Trade .
The sculptor died on April 5 , 1893 at his Paris home , Bethune quay .
His son , Marcel Début (1865-1933) was a painter and sculptor .
