A beautiful miniature on ivory depicting a male figure—an aristocrat or member of the nobility—portrayed in his home

The period wooden frame features moldings; the mullion may be gold—I haven’t tested the metal—or it could also be pomponne.
Viewed from the reverse, the ivory panel has two marginal cracks approximately 3 cm high in the upper corners on both the right and left sides, and a small chip in the lower right corner.
As for the painting itself, it is in a rather poor condition due to the poor way it was preserved, which is truly regrettable (restoration might be worth considering).
For comparison, similar paintings by Pierre Charles Cior—intimate scenes depicting a male or female figure in an interior setting, of the same dimensions but in good condition—are estimated at €3,000–4,000.
