Pair Of Napoleon III-era Earrings, Shell Cameos, Garnet, And Vermeil

A pair of beautiful vintage vermeil earrings, with the setting adorned by a seashell cameo; a portrait of a young woman in an oval medallion engraved in relief, set in a closed setting, accented by a beaded border, and highlighted by a radiant border of garnets set with claws.
High-quality setting; openwork mounting on the reverse side of each stone.
On the reverse side, a U-shaped “pin,” a threaded stem, and a small “knob” form a screw-on mechanism that allows the earrings to be hung from the earlobes.
They have most certainly been worn very rarely and are in perfect condition; there are no signs of wear on the stones, the setting, the cameo, or the mount.
