Antique Gold And Diamond Chandelier Earrings
A pair of important antique drop earrings from the second half of the 19th century, featuring a refined and striking articulated “chandelier” design.
The earrings measure a remarkable 7 cm in length, giving them an extraordinary presence and a beautiful, flowing movement—the “en tremblant” effect.
The craftsmanship faithfully reflects the goldsmithing tradition of the era: the front is crafted from burnished silver to enhance the gems’ reflections, while the back and ear wires are made of low-karat antique gold.
The central body is decorated with openwork floral motifs and sinuous arabesques, entirely embellished with natural rose-cut diamonds (diamond roses) set in a “notte” style. The lower section features three distinctive movable teardrop-shaped pendants on each earring, also adorned with central diamond roses.
Condition as shown in the photos.
