Virgin Of The Assumption—biscuit And Gilded Porcelain Statue Under A Glass Dome—circa 1840
Artist: Porcelaine De Paris
Statue of the Virgin of the Assumption in biscuit porcelain. It rests on a porcelain Rocaille-style pedestal gilded with fine gold. Made of Parisian porcelain, the Virgin is displayed beneath a rare blown-glass dome that protects her from dust. Restoration period, early 19th century, circa 1840.
A beautiful devotional object, ideal as a “castle accent,” to complement an early 19th-century decor—one of those small details that create an authentic atmosphere.
In very good overall condition, no cracks, no chips, and the gilding is fresh. The blown-glass dome is intact.
Height: 33.5 cm with the dome and 25 cm for the statue alone.
