Silver-plated Bronze Centerpiece, 19th Century

Oval silver-plated bronze centerpiece from the Louis XVI period, with an openwork balustrade and mirror

An elegant oval silver-plated bronze centerpiece in the Louis XVI style, resting on four small fluted legs and adorned with a delicate openwork gallery featuring balusters.
The piece features a design of great simplicity, typical of the neoclassical taste of the late 18th century, which was revived throughout the 19th century.

The rim is delicately accented by a frieze of raised pearls and punctuated by four rectangular panels decorated with laurel garlands tied with ribbons, an emblematic motif of the Louis XVI ornamental repertoire.
These decorative panels provide an elegant contrast to the delicacy of the openwork gallery.

The tabletop consists of a beveled mirror that subtly reflects light and highlights the objects displayed on it: crystal, porcelain, vials, or floral arrangements.
This mirror is set in a silver-plated bronze frame featuring a beautiful antique patina.

The four tapered, fluted legs ensure perfect stability while lending the piece a sense of visual lightness.
The underside retains its original backing as well as the mirror’s mounting system, attesting to its meticulous craftsmanship.

With its refinement and harmonious proportions, this centerpiece will naturally find its place on a dining table, a console table, a dresser, or in the center of a pedestal table.
It fits equally well in both classic and contemporary interiors.

In very good overall condition.
Beautiful patina on the silver-plated bronze with slight signs of wear consistent with its age.
Beveled mirror in good condition, showing very slight signs of aging that contribute to its authenticity.
And a few small chips.
