Empire-style Bronze Clock.

Important bronze pendulum clock in the Empire style from the first half of the 19th century, before 1850. The figure depicts a woman dressed in ancient style, standing with her elbow resting on a surface, lost in thought in front of an open book and the passing of time. The rectangular bronze case is decorated with palmettes, shells, and scrollwork. Dial with Roman numerals. The so-called “Parisian” movement is a full-complication movement that is fully functional. Chimes the hours and half-hours. Supplied with a key. Signs of use. Good condition.
