Antique French Napoleon III Desk, 19th Century

Antique French Napoleon III desk made of fine exotic wood with finely chiseled gilded bronze accents.

The top features an original period chiseled leather covering bordered by a gilded bronze trim.

The front features three drawers embellished with gilded bronze vents and handles featuring a leaf motif.

The four corners are adorned with large half-bust figures of women, typical of the period.

The sides are framed, like the front, by bronze moldings with a leaf motif and a mask at the center.

The opposite side is a mirror image of the main side.

The interior is made of oak.

Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using the traditional method of hand-applied shellac and alcohol.
