Antique French Empire console table dating from the Consulate period in the early 19th century.
The piece features a rigid rectangular frame entirely veneered in mahogany, with a poplar interior and a black Belgian marble top.
The front is characterized by two pilasters topped with gilded sphinx heads.
The bases of the pilasters, which are also gilded, rest on a rectangular plinth that serves as a connecting element.
The marble top is contemporary with the console.
