A beautiful military portrait of a young French infantry second lieutenant was painted in 1849 by the French portrait artist Philibert Bernard (born in 1823 in Nomexy). Special thanks to the curator for her assistance to Mr. Stanislav Lyulin of Moscow, the renowned expert on European military uniforms.
