Pair Of Louis XVI Empire-style Candlesticks, Circa 1800, Made Of Chiseled Bronze Gilded With Fine Gold—19 Cm
Pair of gilded bronze table candlesticks or “ragots” with chased decoration of palmettes, fluting, and a row of pearls. Beautiful gilding with mercury and fine gold in matte and glossy finishes. Louis XVI-style piece from the Empire period or circa 1800, comparable to the work of Feuchère, who produced similar designs for Fontainebleau during the Empire.
A high-quality piece; our candlesticks consist of 6 elements, which is a significant number for candlesticks of this size (the more there are, the higher the quality). All components are made of bronze, not brass, and assembled on a hand-forged threaded rod.
A beautiful piece to complement a late 18th-century or early 19th-century decor, on a dressing table or a desk.
Our candlesticks are in very good condition and complete with their candle cups; the beautiful original gilding is well preserved. There is a small chip on the neck of one candlestick, which is not visible as it is hidden beneath the candle cup.
