Richly Molded And Inlaid Louis XIV Walnut Cabinet – 18th Century

A substantial two-door cabinet made of solid walnut, of very fine craftsmanship, dating from the first half of the 18th century. It features a richly architectured front with large molded panels embellished with carved recesses and remarkable star-shaped inlaid medallions, crafted from various types of wood.

The decoration is enhanced by numerous carved and partially gilded ornaments—including shells, scrollwork, and foliage—culminating in an imposing central cartouche above the doors. The rounded posts, the overhanging cornice, and the spindle legs lend the piece remarkable elegance and presence.

The interior retains its original chest lock and hardware. The piece retains a beautiful, warm, and authentic patina. A few cracks and signs of wear, inherent to its age, are visible but do not detract from its character or sturdiness.
