Napoleon III-era Display Cabinet With Support Legs, Made Of Mahogany, Gilded Bronze, And White Marble
A charming Napoleon III-era console display cabinet, crafted from flamed mahogany and topped with an elegant slab of veined white marble. This refined piece stands out for the richness of its flamed wood, its finely chiseled gilt bronze details, and its curved lines characteristic of the second half of the 19th century.
The front features two glass-paned doors framed by gilded bronze moldings with flowing designs. The sides are also glazed, providing ample light inside and allowing for an elegant display of porcelain, glassware, objets d’art, or collections. The interior is lined with an antique pink damask fabric and features two glass shelves.
The uprights are adorned with bronze finials decorated with foliage and seashells, while the waistband and legs feature delicate gilded bronze trim. The handles and keyholes are original.
The piece is in very good overall condition. There are a few slight signs of aging on the back and minimal signs of wear consistent with its age, which do not affect its appearance. The marble is in good condition, with no major damage.
