A Remarkable Cigar Holder Made From A Crab Claw, Set In Silver. Early 20th Century.
A striking and rare cigar or cigarette holder, crafted from a piece of a crab claw and mounted in silver. One end is serrated and intricately crafted; the other is a cone that has been re-drilled, into which the tip of the claw fits. The body of the cigar holder is in perfect condition; the thick shell has natural pitting. Probably solid silver, unhallmarked; may be an English piece. Late 19th or early 20th century.
