We are offering this significant Art Deco-era animal sculpture, circa 1930, crafted from crackled earthenware with an indelible mark. It depicts a seagull with striking realism and movement, captured in mid-flight above the crest of a wave.
Typical of the rationalist and aerodynamic aesthetic of the 1930s, this piece stands out for the fluidity of its lines and the purity of its monochrome cream glaze
The contrasting textured black finish on the beak and the band around the wings emphasizes the modernity of the composition.
