Louis Albert-Lefeuvre (1845–1924) studied under Auguste Dumont and Alexandre Falguière at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited regularly at the Salon starting in 1875 and participated in the 1900 Exposition Universelle. Characterized by powerful realism and great sensitivity, his work celebrates allegorical figures as well as the world of labor and French traditions. His sculptures were cast by the leading art foundries of his time.
