Silver-plated Metal Footed Bowl With Rocaille Decoration, Napoleon III Period
An elegant silver-plated metal footed bowl, featuring a rich rocaille design inspired by the Louis XV style. This high-quality French piece, dating from the Napoleon III era, is a testament to the craftsmanship of the great silversmith workshops of the second half of the 19th century.
The circular bowl is adorned with a finely stamped and chiseled design featuring shells, foliage, trellises, gadroons, and delicate floral motifs. The bowl rests on an elegant baluster shaft decorated with acanthus leaves, which in turn is supported by an openwork base with flowing lines, particularly characteristic of the Rocaille style.
The center of the bowl is engraved with a period monogram, adding to the character and history of this piece.
No silversmith’s hallmark was found.
