Enameled Glass Bulb Vase By Théodore Legras – Art Nouveau Period, 19th Century, Hyacinth

Antique transparent blown-glass bulb vase, designed for growing hyacinths, made by the Théodore Legras workshops in the late 19th or very early 20th century.

This piece features a distinctive silhouette, with an upper basin designed to hold the bulb, while the lower section, filled with water, allows the roots to develop.
The hand-enameled decoration consists of stylized flowers with ochre-yellow corollas and red centers, connected by long, sinuous emerald-green stems. This decoration is typical of the Art Nouveau style.

Théodore Legras (1839–1916) was one of the leading figures in French glassmaking in the late 19th century. Based in Saint-Denis, his workshops produced a wide range of decorative glassware, particularly renowned for their enameled, engraved, or acid-etched designs.
