Antique painted metal egg box with a superb red and gold decoration depicting finely drawn vine leaves and bunches of grapes. The handle and lid are made of metal, with two opening flaps and a central handle for easy access. Inside, there is the removable pierced metal support to hold the eggs. Very beautiful patina, with some wear and missing paint. French work circa 1810-1820. 21.5cm x 12.5cm x 21cm total height
