Elegant secretary desk made of solid mahogany and mahogany veneer, from the Louis XVI period, late 18th century. This high-quality piece stands out for its harmonious proportions, the finesse of its craftsmanship, and its ingenious concealed writing desk mechanism.
It is topped with a superb original black marble slab with white veining. The front features three drawers at the top; the central drawer serves as a flap, revealing an elegant interior in burl elm, comprising small drawers, compartments, and a writing surface covered in burgundy leather. The lower section consists of two large drawers offering ample storage space.
The fluted brass stiles, the tapered fluted legs, the molded frames, and the beautiful chiseled bronze hardware all reflect the refinement characteristic of late 18th-century Louis XVI furniture.
