19th-century Period Napoleon III Mahogany Mirrored Bathroom Cabinet
Mahogany and Rosewood Vanity Cabinet with Mirror – Napoleon III, 19th Century
A very beautiful Napoleon III-era mirrored dressing cabinet from the second half of the 19th century, crafted from mahogany and rosewood.
Tall and slender in form, this bedroom piece features a particularly elegant design. The upper section opens with a large mirrored door, framed by moldings and fluted stiles. It reveals an interior fitted with several shelves, offering ample storage space.
The lower section opens with two side drawers and two doors, also fitted with shelves inside. The fronts display beautiful cabinetry work that highlights the varying shades of mahogany and rosewood, arranged in a curly pattern and accentuated by molded frames.
The piece is particularly remarkable for its large carved crown, composed of foliage and floral motifs arranged around a central cartouche. The heavily molded cornice and fluted side panels further accentuate the verticality and grandeur of the piece.
Resting on small turned legs, this cabinet is a beautiful Napoleon III-style bedroom piece, both decorative and functional. Its narrow proportions also make it easy to place despite its considerable height.
