This beautiful period table captivates with the simplicity of its lines, typical of the Directoire style. It rests on four straight legs and features a sturdy construction, made entirely of solid pine.

It features two large drawers at the front, while the center conceals a storage compartment accessible via a flap on the tabletop. This design, originally intended to hold coins, ledgers, or valuables, attests to its use in a shop or a merchant’s home.

The tabletop, composed of wide antique planks, displays a beautiful patina developed over the centuries. The piece has retained all of its original character, with traditional construction and antique hardware.

Rare on the market, this workbench would be equally at home as a desk, display table, or large console table in a home with character.
