Elegant pair of decorative gilt bronze cassolettes, in the Retour d’Égypte taste, richly decorated with Egyptian-inspired motifs. The bodies feature applied female Egyptian-style busts with winged motifs and an ankh, while the side handles are adorned with birds with outstretched wings. The chased lids are topped with flame-shaped finials.
The gilding is heavily worn, with visible wear, oxidation and an attractive old patina. These age-related traces give the pair an authentic antique character and strong decorative appeal.
