Lyon-made piece from the LouisXV period, circa 1750Made of solid walnut, with curved, violin-shaped backs, finely carved withsmall flowers and acanthus leaves.The whip-shaped armrests, the carved curved crossbars,and the molded, arched legs attest to the quality of theircraftsmanship.Both cabriolets bear the stamp “NOGARET A LYON”on the rear posts.The upholstery has been completely redone by a professional.
Beautiful original patina.Normal wear and tear.In very good condition
*Pierre NOGARET (1718–1771), certified as a master cabinetmaker in Lyon in June 1745. Pierre Nogaret was born in Paris in 1718 and remained the undisputed master of the Lyonfurniture-making tradition during the reign of Louis XV.
