Pair Of Large Mahogany Mirror Sconces, Italy, Circa 1850
A pair of large, three-light wall sconces in solid carved and patinated mahogany, Italy, circa 1850. The shield-shaped mirrors are richly decorated with cherubs in relief, surmounted by an openwork shell, a lyre, and terminating in a bunch of grapes, symbols of abundance and harmony. The set features finely carved decoration, typical of mid-19th-century Italian production. Each mirror has three lights. Rewired for modern use. In very good condition, with a beautiful original patina.
