Full figure in finely chased bronze, on a marble base.

The sculpture depicts a young shepherdess standing on a rocky base, holding a lamb in her raised arms while a sheep at her feet looks up toward her. The dress is rendered with fluid drapery, while an apron decorated in relief with floral motifs enlivens the central area of the figure. The chasing is carefully executed in the detailing of the animals' fleece and the gathered hair. The marble base is an integral part of the composition. The work is consistent with the Italian Verist production of the second half of the 19th century
