Polychrome Maiolica Centerpiece Bowl. Antonibon Manifactory, Bassano, 19th Century.
Polychrome maiolica centerpiece bowl. Antonibon Manifactory, Bassano, 19th century.
29 x 22 x h 17 cm.
A bowl on an oval foot with a scalloped, lobed rim. Attributable to the Antonibon manifactory of Bassano, early 19th century, it is entirely hand-painted in polychrome maiolica with Louis XV-taste floral motifs: tulips and nasturtiums unfold across the exterior wall, while the inner rim is bordered by a continuous sprig of small flowers on a white ground. The bowl bears the manifactory's mark to the underside of the base.
Condition report: Good state of preservation, with minor chips to the rim consistent with age.
